Trump holds Pennsylvania primary lead in new poll

Trump hopes to regain the upper hand with a win in delegate-rich NY on April 19th.

The Trump campaign said it was not anxious and had always expected to fare poorly in Colorado because its assembly process is dominated by party insiders.

The poll also reported that many of Trump’s California supporters are the same voters who backed action star Arnold Schwarzenegger when he ran in the state’s historic recall election for governor in 2003.

Collins, who represents the 27th Congressional District that includes most of Niagara County, is also co-chair of Trump’s U.S. House Leadership Committee.

Under the state’s primary rules, Trump has to win at least 50 percent of the vote in all of the state’s 27 congressional districts to win all 95 delegates.

He predicted that Trump would dominate all parts of the state.

On the Republican side, Trump holds a wide delegate lead nationally, but there seems to be a real chance no one will claim a majority of Republican delegates before the convention.

“It’s hard. We’ve got to win and we’ve got to win consistently”, Cruz said.

Yet with the likelihood of a contested national convention on the rise, a handful of delegates could make a difference, and the competition for their selection has taken on much greater significance than has traditionally been the case.

New York’s delegates are awarded proportionally.

It was yet another example of the Trump campaign, which hired its current state director on Tuesday, struggling to organize in Colorado. In March, Senator Lindsey Graham tepidly endorsed Cruz saying, “He’s the best alternative to Donald Trump”.

However, despite the recent bitter exchanges between Sanders and Clinton in the run-up to the NY and Pennsylvania primaries later this month, rank-and-file Democrats are far more enthusiastic and positive about their candidates than Republicans are about theirs. “If we had a primary, yes, we would have done very well here”, said Trump senior adviser Alan Cobb.

“And for those in the media who say this is some sort of chaotic event, I would remind them that Abraham Lincoln was elected in an open convention, on I think it was either the fifth or sixth ballot if I remember right”, he said.
