Trump predicted that 2016 is going to be “an election where people are fed up”.

“I really enjoy what I’m doing”.

“I would be more loyal to him than to any party”, said Barbara Allen, 68, a retiree who staffed the event as a volunteer.

A few weeks later, he claimed Senator John McCain was “not a war hero” and asserted he preferred “people who weren’t captured”. “They’re sharp. And we’re not, at least our leaders aren’t”. We’re going to save Social Security.

Trump told the story of someone who was murdered by an illegal immigrant.

Earlier this year, the Blue Oval company announced plans for a $2.5 billion investment in Mexico which would generate 3,800 new jobs at a new engine facility at the existing factory in the state of Chihuahua along with a new transmission plant in Guanajuato. No good for this country. “I won’t let it happen”. I’ll be creating a tremendous number of jobs. “Oh, Heaven knows I used to be a Democrat”.

“RedState Gathering”, a high-profile seminar of conservatives, disinvited Trump to its weekend conference, where Jeb Bush laid into the frontrunner.

“We’re going to be announcing specifics next month”.

“China devalued today the biggest devaluation in two decades”. That was a disgrace. “It showed he was weak”. “Beef?” he said. “They don’t want our product”.

In his speech and a press availability beforehand, he also touted his ability to win over and serve the ever-growing list of groups about which he has made controversial comments: Hispanics, veterans and now women.

“And we have sanctuary cities”, he said to boos from some in the crowd.

Clinton is in the midst of a two-day campaign swing through New Hampshire. He said the Trump event will give the local parties about $70,000 to spend on promoting Republican candidates.

Trump has shot to the top of the Republican field, invoking a rebellious, improvisational tone embraced by supporters, and striking fear into a party establishment keen to see a serious, viable candidate emerge to battle likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. He said it would depend on whether he’s treated fairly but would not detail what that meant.

Trump has since slammed Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, calling her a bimbo and lightweight. “I will do great on women’s issues”. The former reality television star, furious over what he deemed unfair treatment, lashed out at Kelly and the network, telling CNN on Friday that during the debate Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever”.

Bonnie Kensinger, 65, of Brighton, Mich., said she didn’t care what Mr. Trump said about Ms. Kelly. “It doesn’t necessarily work that way”, said Trump, who argued that, in business, flexibility is key. “He is all for change and improving the country, and we like how he tells it like it is”. (Interestingly, the study people are most biased against high-pitched voices when it comes to female candidates). “He piqued a lot of interest speaking about the border patrol”.

“Do we want to insult 53 percent of all voters?”

Republican candidates and leaders, McClung stressed, “have to stand up and speak out against Trump’s brand of stupidity”.

The most popular candidates in the poll were Mr. Bush and Florida Sen.
