The Miss Universe pageant is airing live December 20 from Las Vegas, and it’s going to be one fun night. She has been a three-time Binibining Pilipinas contestant-first in 2013 when she placed first runner-up; top 15 last year and eventually winning the Miss Philippines-Universe title this year.

Steve Harvey, the host of this year’s Miss Universe pageant, had one job and was so close to a flawless finish, until he crowned the wrong victor.
Wurtzbach’s answer to the final question as to why she should be the next Miss Universe, “I will use my voice to influence youth”.
Miss Philippines then walked to center stage to accept her crown. Although Miss Philippines handled the moment well, it was still quite awkward to watch.
He deleted that tweet, and apologized again, writing, “I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. We congratulate Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach as Miss Universe 2015“.
It took a while for the final result to be revealed, mostly because for some reason the show chose to bore us with some weird procession with Seal wandering around with the women on stage.
“Everything happens for a reason”, a tearful Gutierrez said in a video posted to Twitter by the Miss Universe pageant.
“In bagging this victory, Ms. Wurtzbach not only serves as a tremendous source of pride for our people, but also holds up the banner of our women and of our country – as a true representative of what the Filipina can achieve”. For the first time in the pageant’s history, viewers at home were able to vote for their favorite contestants online.
The Miss Universe Organization formerly run by Republican presidential aspirant Donald Trump is now owned by WME/IMG agency.
Trump’s remarks about Mexicans in announcing his candidacy in June drew sharp criticism, and the Spanish-language network Univision pulled out of a deal to televise the pageant.
They are Emmy Award-nominated actress Niecy Nash, celebrity entertainment mogul Perez Hilton, 2012 Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, and football legend Emmitt Smith.

The Hispanic audience loves to “cheer for the countries”, he said.
