However, with those shows finished and Game of Thrones showing no signs of declining quality, it not only won for the first time a year ago, but it received its second consecutive award for Outstanding Drama Series on Sunday night. “We’re not mailing this award to her. But, despite winning five Emmys (for David Copperfield, 2000; My House in Umbria, 2003 and Downton Abbey in 2011, 2012 and 2016), Dame Maggie has never turned up to receive one of them – much to Kimmel’s umbrage.
