Trump just threatened to sue Cruz. Cruz’s response? ‘File the lawsuit’

The Bush campaign hit another roadblock in SC when the state’s governor, Nikki Haley endorsed his rival, Florida Sen.

Cruise turned focus to Marco Rubio, who just this week accused the Cruz camp of creating a fake Facebook page alleging South Carolina Congressman, Trey Gowdy, was resending his endorsement of Rubio for Cruz. Ms Haley was to endorse Senator Rubio at an event later in the day.

The 44-year-old governor is reported to have chosen Rubio, also 44, as the strongest establishment pick to counter frontrunners Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. “I have a record of good judgment on these issues”.

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is seen through the glass windows as he speaks during a campaign town hall at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Polls suggest Trump continues to hold a big lead in SC and in upcoming states, as Cruz works to rally the Republican Party’s most conservative wing and Rubio tries to consolidate mainstream Republicans behind his candidacy.

Speculation that Haley, the state’s first female and first minority governor, could be a potential GOP running mate increased after she gave the Republican response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address last month.

A solid 59% predict that Trump will be the victor in SC but only 40% say he “is now guaranteed to win the Republican nomination”. “Wow – coming from a guy whose office has a hard time actually saying what his accomplishments are, who says going to hearings to listen to smart people talk about things, rather than actually leading, that’s kind of a low blow, if you think about it”, he said.

Cruz, Trump and Florida Sen. The South Carolina primary for them is on February 27.

“Ted Cruz is a totally unstable individual”, said Trump in a statement. “And so, Donald, I would encourage you, if you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad, claiming it is defamation, file a lawsuit”.

“Mr Trump, you have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for your entire adult life”. Trump said in the August presidential debate said that his shift occurred because “friends of mine years ago were going to have a child, and it was going to be aborted”.

Cruz, who graduated from Harvard Law School and previously worked as Texas’s top lawyer, said he would like to take Trump’s deposition himself and that a lawsuit against the ad has no chance.

“If Donald Trump files the lawsuit that he threatens, that lawsuit will be frivolous”, Cruz added.

The Republican results marked a nominal gain for Trump since his win in the February 9 New Hampshire primary, when he led Cruz by 18.4 points in the national rolling survey, although the increase remained within the poll’s credibility interval.
