Trump lifts ‘SNL’ ratings to best in 3 years

Since NBC announced Trump’s guesting, the network has drawn a lot of criticisms, especially from the Latino community, which has been against the presidential candidate since he made comments about Mexican immigrants being “rapists” and “criminals”.

“It was terrific”, Trump said of the show.

“She said a few things about me that were hurtful and untrue”, Trump stated, adding, “I said a few things about her that were mean but completely accurate”.

But the show went on with Trump saying, “Many of the greats have hosted this show – like me in 2004″.

While Trump was delivering his opening monologue, David shouted “You’re a racist” at the millionaire.

Trump had been publicizing his appearance for several weeks, seemingly enjoying the fact that he would headline a show on the same network (NBC) that had fired him from his popular reality competition, The Celebrity Apprentice. That will be good news for Ben Carson, who has said he would not serve on the show if asked, the office of president being far too serious for such nonsense.

Thank you to all of those who gave me such wonderful reviews for my performance on @nbcsnl Saturday Night Live.

In a sketch, it featured Trump in 2018 as the elected president speaking to his cabinet in the Oval Office discussing how much better the country is now that he is president.

According to NBC, SNL scored a 6.6 household rating, easily topping the season’s previous high, the 41st season premiere which was hosted by Miley Cyrus and with a guest appearance by, ahem, Hillary Clinton.

Trump’s dance moves trended on social media. And he just may get those dollars, because the group Deport Racism had reportedly offered $5,000 to any audience members willing to heckle Trump.

So, in the end, it seems like NBC’s decision to ignore the controversy in the name of a desperate ratings grab really worked out. Democractic presidential candidate Larry Lessig applied for equal time, but dropped out of the race before an agreement was made.
