Trump, looking to right campaign ship, endorses Ryan, senators

Ryan reiterated his support for Trump hours before the endorsement, but the Wisconsin Republican noted his support wasn’t a “blank check” and pledged to speak out against the businessman’s divisive positions if necessary. John McCain of Arizona and Sen.

The real-estate mogul has seen his poll numbers plummet this week as he feuded with the family of a fallen soldier and with Ryan, the most popular politician of his party in this potential battleground state.

Trump made his first appearance in Wisconsin since his tough loss here in the April primary, and he brought vice-presidential pick and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. In the past, Trump questioned McCain’s status as a war hero, and told the Post he felt McCain “should have done a much better job for the vets”.

“I joined this campaign in a heartbeat”, Pence said of becoming Trump’s running mate.

However the rocky path towards GOP unity plays out, Trump will have to win over Wisconsin’s Republicans to win the state. Friday night, Trump called that explanation “a lie”.

Ryan has yet to respond to Trump’s endorsement. Such an endorsement, though a small win for Ryan, might come too late to fully undo the damage in Wisconsin.

Trump conceded Friday he was wrong to claim repeatedly in recent days that he saw a video of a USA cash payment going to Iran.

But in the past week he’s made statements that might test that, including his criticisms of Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the father and mother of Capt. Humayun Kahn, killed in 2004 by a suicide auto bomb in Iraq.

“In our shared mission to make America great again, I support and endorse our Speaker of the House Paul Ryan”, said Trump during the speech. On Friday, Priebus announced that he and his wife voted for Ryan.

“In the intelligence business, we would say that Mr. Putin had recruited Mr. Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation”, wrote Morell, who was CIA director in the Obama administration and now works for a firm run by one of Clinton’s closest advisers.

Ryan had dismissed the importance of a Trump endorsement Friday morning in another local radio interview with WISN’s Jay Weber.

“As Donald Trump has said stupid things and been rude to so many people over the past year, I usually chalked it up to inexperience and the spotlight of an incredibly hostile press”, Vos wrote. “I think he’s a disgrace”, said Michelle Lovelien, who with her husband runs four coffeehouses with about 20 employees.

The couple is frightened by the prospect of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton winning the White House over Trump. “I love babies”, he said.

“The plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran!”

“I need a Republican Senate and House to accomplish all of the changes that we have to make”.

“I will continue to find ways to support Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump”, he said.

Neither Ryan nor Wisconsin’s Republican governor, Scott Walker, showed up for Trump’s Green Bay event.

Trump was immediately slammed for not endorsing the Republicans, particularly Ryan, and he has attacked McCain several times during the campaign, including his record as a POW in Vietnam.

“He doesn’t respect me as a human, not just because I’m Native American, but because I’m a woman”, she said.
