Trump Mentions Police-Involved Shootings in Statement About Dallas
“I believe we can stop it all”, he wrote on Twitter. While the gathering is usually spent on official church business such as electing bishops, church members paused the conference Thursday to march in Philadelphia’s streets. However, he did confirm a few things that Republicans jumped on: like the fact that Clinton had sent some emails that were marked classified, hadn’t turned in all her work-related emails and used multiple devices – things she had said she didn’t do.

Clinton campaigned with President Barack Obama last week and her appearance with Biden in Pennsylvania, a general election battleground state, is aimed at building party unity ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. But Clinton kept her speaking commitment at the AME convention before an audience that would be most likely to inject her message into the bloodstream of the black community.
He did not mention the deaths of the two African-Americans shot by police officers earlier this week. The aftermath of the shooting was live-streamed on Facebook by the man’s girlfriend.
In Dallas, Police Chief David Brown said yesterday that a suspect in the attack said he was upset over the recent police shootings of black men and wanted to kill white people, according to the Associated Press. Video of that incident also went viral on the internet.
These horrific tragedies occurred not even a month after the shooting at an Orlando nightclub that left 50 dead.
“They are not just police officers, they are mothers and fathers husbands and wives sons and daughters and they’re all on my mind today”.
Instead, he released a lengthy statement, calling the Dallas attack a “coordinated, premeditated assault on the men and women who keep us safe”.
“Too much violence, too much fear, make all of us less secure”.
“We don’t know what to do because we don’t agree on what the problem is”, said Katheryn Russell-Brown, a law professor and director of the Center for the Study of Race and Race Relations at the University of Florida.
Trump, in his first public acknowledgment Friday of those shootings, called the deaths of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota “senseless, tragic” and said they “remind us how much more needs to be done”.
African Americans were divided between those who expressed disgust at what happened in Dallas and those who expressed anger that the reaction to white police officers being shot was stronger than the reaction to the police killings of two black men before them. She warned against vilifying police officers.
But Clinton also praised police officers, noting there are countless officers working hard across the country to inspire trust and confidence. While condemning the killing of Dallas police, he urged Americans to continue to confront the issues dividing the country.
Sterling was shot Tuesday after struggling with two white officers who eventually pinned him to the pavement, an altercation that was captured on cellphone video.
“Too many Americans feel like they’ve lost hope”, he said in a statement.
For police officers like Lamone Gibson, who attended Friday’s event, de-escalation in the face of a tense situation is key. “How can I show that your life matters to me?” “If a police officer makes a mistake, he should be held accountable”.
Clinton called for national guidelines for law enforcement on the use of force, particularly lethal force.
“All these things can be true at once”, she said.
“She will renew her calls to ensure justice is served and will reemphasize the urgent need to reform our broken criminal justice system”, the aide said, in comments made before the Dallas shooting. We need jobs, and we are going to produce those jobs.
Clinton is no stranger to this kind of talk.

She repeatedly said their names. But she said she relied on colleagues who had long experience in handling classified material. “She addressed that it’s wrong for police to kill anyone and it’s wrong for anyone to kill the police”.
