Trump mocks Carson on foreign policy
Republican presidential candidate, Dr, Ben Carson, center, laughs with New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner after signing filing papers to be on the nation’s earliest presidential primary ballot, Friday, November 20, 2015, in Concord, N.H.

Amid what has become a faulty yet national obsession, Dr. Ben Carson today compared Syrian refugees to rabid dogs.
To many, Carson’s claims went no further than the late-night comic monologue.
But, Carson acknowledged, Williams as recently as this week helped the candidate edit a foreign policy op-ed the campaign sent to The Washington Post.
Finishing his analogy, Carson continued, saying that, even though he loves dogs, he would still call the Humane Society with hopes they could “come take this dog away and create a safe environment once again”.
“We don’t want to do anything that’s going to increase the danger to our citizens”, he said, ” but at the time, we want to be compassionate”.
And Trump told Yahoo News this week he would not rule out making American Muslims carry special identification cards so they could be more easily tracked.
“Doesn’t mean you hate all dogs, by any stretch of the imagination”, he said.
Mr. Carson, who is jockeying for the lead in the GOP race with billionaire businessman Donald Trump, said the US must employ a thorough screening process before allowing any Syrian refugees into the country.
Almost three dozen governors have said they would not accept refugees in their state under the Obama administration’s program that would allow for 10,000 entering the U.S. Along with delving into the hypothetical of a shooting war with Russian Federation, Carson demurred when Wallace pressed him on which countries he would call first in attempting to build a coalition to fight Islamic State militants.
The Politico story notes that the NY Times interviewed two members close to Carson’s campaign who complained that the doctor just didn’t get foreign affairs.
“[Al Qaeda] weren’t nearly as developed as [ISIS] are now at that point…ISIS is so much greater a threat to us than that was”, Carson said. You had to be able to fly a couple of planes.

Williams said he wasn’t hurt or surprised by the remarks, adding that there’s no rift between himself and Carson or the official campaign.
