Trump More Trustworthy Than Hillary In New National Poll

Among likely voters – the first time the poll has included that demographic – Clinton has a 6-point lead over Trump, 43-37 percent.

The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters from September 16 to 19 and has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points. It came before the series of weekend bombings in NY and New Jersey and each candidate’s reaction to the bombings.

Here’s the state of the polls in the U.S. presidential election as they stand.

A reporter asked a similar question to Clinton earlier this month, asking her why she wasn’t “running away” with the election, considering her extremely negative portrayal of Trump.

“I think the election is going to be tight. They should disarm. Right?” he told the partisan crowd.

Clinton is spending most of this week in debate preparations with a small circle of top aides at her home in NY.

Clinton’s big spending on media highlights the differing approaches for the campaigns.

Political veterans involved in preparing for past presidential debates said Clinton should drive home how she would run the country during uncertain times and draw a contrast as the steady, experienced alternative to the untested Trump.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are in a virtual tie in North Carolina, according to a poll released Tuesday by Elon University.

“Although Clinton’s lead is smaller than in our last poll, she is maintaining her advantage in Florida given the ominous state of her poll standing last week”, said Monmouth’s Patrick Murray. “But we are going to win them because we’ve spent the past year building a superior ground game to communicate our message and turn our people out to vote”. “People are less trusting of these two candidates than they were of candidates in the past”, said Nowak. And that would certainly warm the cockles of many of her women supporters who would like to see the casually misogynist Trump get his nose bloodied. “For him to get from where he is to winning, something, some spark, something that hasn’t happened – would have to happen”, he said.
