Trump on black supporter: ‘Look at my African-American’

US President Barack Obama has condemned the violence at a rally by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in San Jose, California. “He said the people near where the incident took place were about to jump on the black man because they thought he was a protester when in reality he was a supporter”.

Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks against a Latino judge presiding over lawsuits related to Trump University during a Friday interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

There was a heavy police presence as Trump spoke to the crowd at the San Jose Convention Center. Critics also complained that assaults occurred on side streets near the venue that lacked police presence.

Donald Trump, who has faced repeated accusations of racism and xenophobia over race-tinged comments and inflammatory rhetoric, drew more criticism after praising a black supporter as “my African American”.

Hicks also rejected the suggestion that Trump’s use of the possessive “my” to refer to the supporter was racist, saying such a charge was “ridiculous”.

The protesters in San Jose were not the typical leftie-Bernie Sanders supporters wearing Bierkenstocks and tie-dye T-shirts.

“Whenever I’m in a town hall or an event and I mention something that I really disagree with on the Republican policy, and people start booing when they hear the word ‘Republican, ‘ I always say – don’t boo, vote!” he said. Some criticized San Jose police for intervening too slowly. The latest evidence is when the GOP presidential candidate shouted a Black guy at one of his rally’s in the most awkward and struggle-filled way possible. Trump hats grabbed from supporters were set on fire on the ground.

One woman not ready to talk about Trump is Marla Maples, Donald Trump’s second ex-wife. Which makes police passivity doubly unsafe.

“I was so praying for it”, Adriana Constantino said. “It appears that law enforcement was more focused on protecting private property.”.

“Hillary Clinton will do anything (Obama) says”, Trump said. While jockeying for position to get a glimpse of Trump, they held up a sea of rainbow-colored umbrellas to shield themselves from heat that topped 100 degrees. We have tremendous African American support.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere Friday in Redding was far calmer than in San Jose. Trump didn’t seem to know about Cheadle’s candidacy.

Richardson and Jiang are not Trump supporters, but Richardson said she wanted Jiang, who is from China, to attend the rally with her for an “authentic American experience”.
