In a meeting with President Trump Tuesday, Upton said he told the him “in no uncertain terms” that he would only vote for the bill if it maintained coverage for pre-existing conditions. I actually think it will get even better.

OH health-care advocates are reacting to Thursday’s passage of a GOP health bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. “This is a repeal and replace of ACA, make no mistake about it”.

An earlier version of the Republican plan collapsed in March, when opposition from both moderates and conservatives torpedoed their own party’s attempt to do away with former president Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act of 2010.

Regardless of the outcome, whether or not the Affordable Care Act gets repealed, Borick said it’s not likely an issue voters will soon forget.

The spending bill funds the government through September, when another measure must be passed – one that Republicans have said will be more aggressive in accomplishing some of the efforts that were removed from this bill.

He repeated his conviction that Obamacare is “failing” and “essentially dead”.

“We’re going to finish it off and we’re going to go on to a lot of other things”, he said. “The problems facing Americans as a result of Obamacare are just too dire and too urgent”.

In other good news for high earners, the subsidies that Obamacare said people making over $48,000 didn’t need will now be available to people making up to $150,000 a year.

“We want to brag about this plan, really!”.

“The American Health Care Act is Congress’ opportunity to fix the health insurance system and put patients back in charge of their health care. It is the exact same group of people that went out there and lied to the face of every single American, telling them that if they like their plan, they would keep their doctor; if they like their doctor, they would keep their doctor”, Mast added.

“My yes vote today was about keeping the promise I made to my constituents to work towards lowering health care costs”.

But healthcare consultancy and research firm Avalere Health released analysis that the Republican bill would only cover 5 per cent of those enrolled with pre-existing conditions in the individual markets. One of the AHCA’s recent amendments includes an increase in funding to high-risk pools, which would provide $8 billion over 5 years for states to cover those with pre-existing conditions.
