Stunt or not, Trump gave it his stamp of approval, with yet another big smile, thumbs-up, and of course, a perfectly coifed ‘do as he posed afterward with the Twitter team. “I am totally giving up my salary if I become president”.

Trump is self-funding the vast majority of his bid for president – he has not sought out wealthy donors to back his run, though there are some outside “super PACs” supporting him. The billionaire real estate mogul also said he wouldn’t take one dollar of the presidential salary. Romney’s decision to go without wages was particularly noble because, as Trump has pointed out, Romney is not rich.
