Trump organizes plan to keep delegates in line
The general election is still a little over four months away, but polling data indicates Clinton has the edge in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Cruz’s allies were successful this spring in getting elected to Trump delegate slots at the regional caucuses and at last month’s state convention. He contends that once the gavel is banged to start the convention, there are no rules.
Many have been wondering what House Speaker Paul Ryan is up to.
The Trump adviser downplayed concern that anti-Trump delegates would be able to pull off such a coup. In doing so and sparing the country the Trump vs. Clinton choice, the delegates would perhaps extend the life of the Republican Party and ensure a capable competitor for conservative ideas. “It is not my job to tell delegates what to do, what not to do or to weigh in on things like that”, he said.
But Trump’s allies in NY, where the Manhattan real estate mogul won 61 percent of the vote and 61 of 62 counties in the April 19 presidential primary, say that any attempt to deny him the nomination he won in the primaries isn’t going to happen.
In March, it looked entirely possible that none of the Republican presidential candidates would arrive at the July convention with the nomination in hand.
Indeed, the great irony of this campaign is the apparent anti- Clinton derangement syndrome that has driven Republicans to nominate Trump.
When first told of this effort, Rick Johnson, the first Republican to endorse Mr. Trump in MI, dismissed it as nuts.
According to a new CNN poll released Tuesday, a full 48 percent of Republicans want to see the party select someone besides Donald J. Trump as its presidential nominee.
With this recognition has come the realization that Trump has wasted the seven weeks since becoming the presumptive nominee – a period in which Democrats were divided and vulnerable. Then the new rules should get the approval of most of the 2,472 delegates at the convention.
Bearden said it was “too soon to say” how many fellow delegates would join him. The party’s presence recently at Hampton Roads Pride recently is representative of a fresh and forward-thinking GOP ready to win Virginia. “I saw a headline somewhere that said he didn’t have a lot of money”.
But both candidates are underwater in favorability ratings. “We want Donald Trump Jr.to be the delegate that makes that announcement”, Paladino said, adding that he remains “hesitant” about Cox acting as chairman of the NY contingent to the convention.
“There’s a full-blown whip operation” to tally votes, Evans said. Evans estimated that Trump has about 900 fervent backers at the convention while Cruz has 700. Trump, by contrast, has done his best to alienate and demoralize Republican officeholders. While such actions may annoy some Trump voters, I’ve found that a large portion of Trump supporters themselves understand this and have been annoyed by our presumptive nominee’s lackluster moments.
The State Party does not.
“‘We have a tremendous game plan, and it’s one like you’ve never seen”, LeVell said. And her largest lead is in Trump’s coveted Keystone State.

By the end of this string of statements, one of Trump’s strongest congressional proxies, Rep. Duncan Hunter, was reduced to arguing: “I think what he says and what he’ll do are two different things”.
