Trump outperforms Clinton on ‘SNL’ in a big way
While many have expressed their opinion on how much of a letdown the episode was, one thing is for sure: Trump seems happy about being the cause of SNL’s ratings spiking up whether for good or bad reason.

When Trump asked why he did that, David replied, “I heard if I yelled that, they’d give me five thousand dollars”.
The show made reference to the controversy when comedian Larry David, in an obvious send-up, called out “Donald Trump is a racist” to an apparently unfazed Trump.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks as guest host during the monologue on “Saturday Night Live”, Saturday, November 7, 2015.
While Trump was delivering his opening monologue, David shouted “You’re a racist” at the millionaire. The group protested Trump’s appearance with a march from Trump Tower to Rockefeller Center ahead of the “Saturday Night Live” airtime. From there Trump riffed on his feud with Rosie O’Donnell and addressed cast members Taran Killam and Darrell Hammond for their impersonations of him over the years. Trump’s 12-plus minutes of airtime also triggered the FCC’s equal-time rule, meaning NBC stations are obliged to offer equal airtime to his Republican competitors.
“After the show, they tweeted, “#LarryDavid wins the $5,000 “bounty” from DeportRacism.com for calling Trump a Racist on #SNL.
Mr Trump’s comments last summer spurred NBC to sever its Miss Universe ties with him while declaring he would never return to his The Apprentice role.

However, despite the huge rating Trump generated, many pundits are not too keen on the “SNL” episode. Critics complained the show was giving Trump a platform despite what they called his racially hateful rhetoric. Donald Trumps always a bit of a spectacle, and after people protested his appearance on the long-running NBC sketch series, he actually was open about stating that he knows how to bring ratings. According to the network’s estimates, Trump’s latest SNL appearance is set to break the season premiere viewer count of 6.3 million to 10 million.
