“As someone in the middle of a hotly fought political campaign, I can not stand here and claim that my words and actions haven’t sometimes fueled the partisanship that often stands in the way of our progress”, Clinton said a week after she faced criticism from the Federal Bureau of Investigation director over her handling of classified materials at the State Department.

Clinton lost ground on honesty and moral standards in the poll released on Wednesday that showed tight races in Florida, Pennsylvania and OH, all swing states that could go to either party in November’s presidential election.

Trump is leading Clinton by 42 per cent to 39 per cent in Florida, although last month the former secretary of state had been eight percentage points out in front of the real estate magnate, EFE news agency reported. White House hopeful Hillary Clinton yesterday accused her Republican adversary Donald Trump of corrupting the party of Abraham Lincoln, in a speech at the site of a historic address on slavery by the Civil War-era president. The Department of Justice decided against prosecuting Clinton, but FBI Director James Comey publicly criticized her for being “extremely careless”.

The survey was conducted between June 30 and July 11 among about 1,000 registered voters in each of the three states and has an error margin of a little over 3 per cent. Trump dominates among white voters, men and older Floridians.

Among likely voters, Clinton’s lead narrowed to 45-41, with 9 percent supporting neither.

“Let’s put ourselves in the shoes of African-Americans and Latinos, and try as best we can to imagine what it would be like if we had to have “the talk” with our kids about how carefully they need to act because the slightest wrong move could get them hurt or killed”.

Nevertheless, the poll indicates Trump has momentum as Republicans prepare to gather next week in Cleveland for the GOP national convention.

In Ohio, the poll of 955 voters showed the candidates tied at 41 per cent. “He has wiped out Hillary Clinton’s lead in Florida; is on the upside of too-close to call races in Florida and Pennsylvania and is locked in a dead heat in OH”.
