Ahead of Tuesday’s campaign rally in Williamsburg, Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence will also meet with veterans in Norfolk.
Pence told a church congregation in Florida that he and Trump have prayed together at the end of a day canvassing for votes. He has called for suspending the refugee program that admits Syrians fleeing the war-torn country once they clear a vetting process that both Trump men suggest is non-existent and admits terrorists.
“I think it’s first being willing to recognize that seven and a half years of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s leadership has weakened America’s leadership place in the world and frankly embolden the enemies of this country”, Pence, the governor of in, said.
Pence went on to say that Trump would bring strong American leadership to the world stage, which he says has been lacking under the current administration.
Local media outlets report that Mike Pence will hold a roundtable discussion Tuesday afternoon with about 30 veterans aboard the USS Wisconsin, which is anchored in Norfolk.

“I like to tell people that other than a whole lot of zeroes, Donald Trump and I have a whole lot in common”, he told the crowd. The Indiana Governor talked about Trump’s plan to prevent homegrown terrorism after bombings in the NY area. Some retired military personnel frame the policy as a “social experiment” that will damage unit cohesion and threaten the military’s ability to carry out missions.
