The timing is unusual.

But then, Trump pointed out that he owes his success to his ability to put together “a really fantastic team” and stressed that he would need a Republican House and Senate to accomplish his agenda as president.

“All my life I’ve been told, ‘You have the greatest temperament, ‘” he said. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) after hesitating to back them as well.

Ryan endorsed Trump in early June, but only after publicly deliberating over the decision, telling reporters in May that he was “not quite there yet”.

He reiterated his support for Mr Trump hours before the endorsement – but he noted that his support was not a “blank cheque”, and pledged to speak out against the businessman’s divisive positions if necessary. He also praised Ryan’s opponent, Paul Nehlen, for running “a very good campaign”.

“I think the arguments of just staying on message and hitting Hillary Clinton is the right message”, Borelli said.

And the leader of the Vermont Federation of College Republicans says the group may not endorse their party’s candidate for president. “This is one of the most important elections in my lifetime”, Trump said at Friday’s rally in Green Bay. Trump announced he is endorsing House Speaker Paul Ryan after initially declining to do so. “We have to win this election”.

Joe Borelli, a Trump co-chair in NY, said the campaign will weather the storm.

An aide to Ryan later said that the speaker “appreciates the gesture and is going to continue to focus on earning the endorsement of the voters in Southern Wisconsin”. “We need that. Arm in arm, we will rescue the nation from the Obama-Clinton disaster that has bled our country dry and has spread terrorism unabated across the world”.

“In one way, she’s a monster”, he said in Wisconsin. On Tuesday, Trump told the Post that Ayotte had given him “no support – zero support”, later adding “We need loyal people in this country”.

“I may have short-circuited, and for that I will try to clarify”, Mrs Clinton said, though still insisting she “never sent or received anything that was marked classified”. The latest flashpoint: Trump’s attacks on the parents of U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq in 2004.
