Trump policy speech calls for changes in veterans’ programs
But now he’s using new words to describe himself, proclaiming he’s “the law and order candidate” in the 2016 race for the presidency, The Hill reported.

He added: “We have to talk with the police”. Trump’s previously released statement over the weekend incorrectly referenced “two motorists” killed in Louisiana and Minnesota, as only Castile was in a vehicle when killed by law enforcement.
Mr Trump struck a balance between the law-and-order rhetoric he has espoused during his campaign and an appreciation for the concerns held by black Americans about the conduct of police. Trump stated that violent crime has “increased” across the United States, but the facts don’t quite bear that out.
Trump’s plan Monday also included a call for more investment in veterans’ mental health care and pledges to discipline federal workers who abuse the system and appoint a commission to investigate the VA and present its findings to Congress. It is unclear how that commission would be different from the one that unveiled its findings last week. “The guiding principle of the Trump plan is ensuring veterans have convenient access to the best quality care”. He guaranteed vets the “right to choose their doctor”, be it at VA facilities or at private medical centers. “He has the experience and the leadership that’s necessary to boldly reform the Department of Veterans Affairs”.
Among his other VA initiatives, Trump said he would create a private hotline to the White House for VA complaints about wrongdoing to ensure none “fall through the cracks”.
When Trump took the podium, he thanked Representative Jeff Miller, who is chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, for his introduction, but did not mention Christie, who delivered the opening remarks for the event.
Trump promised to reform the country’s visa programs to place veterans “in the front, not the back, of the line”.
Most of the 10 proposals Trump pitched on Monday deal with lowering the boom on VA officials. “Veterans know this and that’s why they overwhelmingly want to keep the VA health care they have”. “You defend America and America will defend you”.
“Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is weak, ineffective, pandering and, as proven by her recent e-mail scandal which was an embarrassment not only to her, but to the entire nation as a whole, she’s either a liar or grossly incompetent”.
Donald Trump says he believes relations between police and the nation’s African-American community are “far worse” than people think, predicting that protests against police violence that followed last week’s slaying of five police officers in Dallas “might be just the beginning for this summer”.
As has become common practice these last few days, a member of the short list to be Trump’s running mate introduced the real estate mogul – today was New Jersey Governor Chris Christie who set the tone for Mr. Trump’s address focusing on the Dallas attacks.
Meanwhile, Trump’s remarks in Virginia’s second district placed him squarely in the zone of Republican Rep. Scott Rigell.

The pro-Clinton group Correct The Record mocked Trump’s claims, noting that he once said he would like to punch a protester in the face and on another occasion discussed paying the legal fees of a supporter who did in fact punch a protester.
