Trump postponing speech on immigration plan

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is returning northeast OH for another campaign rally.

“Donald Trump should stop hiding behind fake excuses and release his tax returns and immediately disclose the full extent of his business interests”, Podesta said. He couldn’t pretend to be inclusive and statesmanlike for two days in a row if his life depended on it. He made a direct appeal to African-American voters, insisting he wants the Republican Party to become their political home.

“What the hell do you have to lose?” “And I say it with such a deep-felt feeling, what do you have to lose?” Oh, and he wants your vote.

Bramnick said he’d left the meeting “very encouraged” and “hopeful in anticipating the policy and language” Trump’s campaign is expected to release in the coming weeks. He has yet to say it to a largely African-American group of listeners.

The black unemployment rate is about 9 percent – again, too high but nothing like the impression Trump seeks to give. “Highly respected people in the community”. But it’s ridiculous to count as unemployed a bunch of kids who, you know, have to do their chemistry homework.

The real estate mogul promised an immigration policy that will “protect American jobs” and “protect American safety”. From the evidence, no.

But, some voters in the focus group noted that despite Trump’s shortcomings, they might still consider voting for him. Trump was to hold a rally and fundraiser in Portland next week on Wednesday, August 31, but has now canceled, citing his trip last week to Louisiana where he unloaded boxes for a photo-op for 49 seconds.

A Trump campaign source said the campaign chose to push back Trump’s immigration speech as it is still fine-tuning its immigration policy and the speech’s language. “To be determined”, she said. “I have very little debt relative to the assets”.

Trump told Fox & Friends earlier in the day that he is not flip-flopping on deporting 11 million people living in the US illegally, but he said he wants to develop a “really fair, but firm” solution.

Voters overall seemed concerned about the substance of Trump’s campaign, noting that he needs to focus more on issues and less on shocking people. But antipathy toward Latinos who are “flooding” across the border, allegedly to take Americans’ jobs and commit frightful crimes, is a central tenet of Trumpism.

“We are dealing with people”, Trump said. Whatever. I don’t think Trump has any deep ideological commitment to any of this, though I think he feels it deeply when he says it. “But that doesn’t mean he’s going to take them or that he’s changed his mind”.

While Trump has long attacked Clinton for her honesty, tonight was the first time he went so far as calling for a special prosecutor.

Trump said Democratic politicians had not been able to stem crime and poverty in inner cities despite pledges to do every election year. Within hours, he had slung a personal insult at a regular guest on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” (not me).

Trump took particular offense to an article in Buzzfeed detailing the meeting, which claimed Trump indicated a reversal in his tough stance against illegal immigration.
