Trump Praised Ukraine Invasion in 2014
‘So with all of the Obama tough talk on Russian Federation and the Ukraine, they have already taken Crimea and continue to push. As he turns his attention to the general election, Donald Trump is signaling that he is ready to tone down his fiery rhetoric on illegal immigration _ at least behind closed doors. Over the weekend, for instance, Trump told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he would look into recognizing Russia’s annexation of Crimea and that the people of Crimea would rather be part of Russian Federation (which also happens to be the official line of the Kremlin).

“Then they talk about Donald Trump and Russian Federation, or Donald Trump, but believe me, folks, somebody can say nice things about me, he did call me a genius but these are minor details, somebody can say nice things about me, it has, it makes no difference”, he said, adding he does not care about people calling bad things about him.
U.S. officials and cyber security experts have previously said they believed Russian Federation had something to do with the release of the emails in order to influence the election.
Trump went on to emphatically say that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “not going into Ukraine”.
On Thursday, even while trying to reframe his original comments, Mr. Trump reiterated his remarks from a day earlier that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russian Federation is “a better leader” than President Obama.
The candidate’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, has worked extensively for pro-Putin oligarchs.
“So nobody from the Trump campaign wanted that change in the platform?”
In the interview, Trump had said that Vladimir Putin is “not going into Ukraine, okay, just so you understand”.
“You know, when he goes in and takes Crimea, he’s taking the heart and soul because that’s where all the money is”, he said.
You can mark it down and you can put it down, you can take it anywhere you want.
“The person said but they’re already in Ukraine”.
Do I think Mr. Trump is terrific? No.
The Clinton campaign pointed to the exchange to question what Trump knows about the subject and argued that the Republican is repeating Putin’s talking points on Crimea.
“If we accept the position that big states can ride roughshod over little states, that treaties are irrelevant and that we don’t care whether we have solemn commitments to allies we are encouraging further attacks against our allies in Europe, Asia and the Middle East”, said Stephen Blank, a senior fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council.
“This is scary stuff but it shouldn’t surprise us”.
“Whether it’s saying that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation wouldn’t come to the rescue of our allies if they were invaded [or] talking about removing sanctions from Russian officials. imposed by U.S. and Europe together, his praise for Putin, I think, is quite remarkable”.
“I have no relationship with him (Putin)”, Trump said, adding that he had praised him the in the past because he had said some nice things about him.
As recently as late previous year, Trump said in reference to Trump, “I got to know him very well”.
“Looking back at the recent eight years, when Barack Obama of the Democratic party has been in office, we can see that, regrettably, no thaw in relations between our countries has happened, no steps have been made to build up trust”, Sergey Naryshkin said during a meeting with military members.
Donald Trump never met a conspiracy theory he didn’t like – until now. “This was a long time ago”.
In doing so, she was implicitly rebuking her rival, Republican nominee Donald Trump, who has questioned the need for the Western alliance and suggested that if he is elected president, the United States might not honor its North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military commitments, in particular regarding former Soviet republics in the Baltics.
Here, it sure sounds like Trump is denying that Russian troops are in Ukraine – even though they’ve been there since 2014.
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange at the time praised Putin’s decision, which caused a serious rift in Russia-U.S. relations.
