Trump Predicts ‘Riots’ If He Loses Contested Convention

But despite four more wins on Tuesday, the billionaire businessman still must do better.
Even before Tuesday’s results, a group of conservatives was planning to meet to discuss ways to stop Trump, including a contested convention or rallying around a third-party candidate. Trump’s support is far wider – if less deep – than Cruz’s, for example, so he winds up winning lots and lots of districts, which means lots and lots of delegates.
Although Trump and Cruz have been taking plenty of shots at each other in debates lately (Trump recently called Cruz a “liar”, “unstable” and threatened to sue him) the Texas senator has also warned of an uproar, if party leaders went against the popular vote.
He said he believes he’ll nail down the nomination before the convention and said he couldn’t imagine failing to get the party’s nomination virtually “automatically” in such a scenario. Arizona’s vote is a primary with 58 delegates and Utah’s is a caucus with 40.
The race isn’t over, however, and there’s still plenty to look at in terms of how the frontrunners position themselves moving forward and what the remaining candidates can do to slow them down. Rubio left the race with 168 delegates. Tigger, aka John Kasich, has 142.
Cruz said Tuesday night that he can still clinch the nomination by the time the primaries are over. “I don’t just respect (Clinton), I admire her. She’s inspiring for women and she’s had to overcome obstacles other candidates have not”.
That’s because there are too few winner-take-all primaries for Cruz to collect enough delegates.
Following the money, of the top ten cities contributing the most to the Sanders campaign, six have yet to vote including Seattle, Portland (Oregon), San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Kasich prevented a total Trump takeover by denying him victory in Ohio. After Tuesday’s contests, Cruz has won just 29 percent of the delegates awarded so far.
Meanwhile, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton turned her sights to the general election and Trump after decisive wins over Sen.
Mr Cruz, who is now in second place in the race, is also opposed to a brokered convention.
Kasich predicted that an open convention would come to pass because “nobody is going to have enough delegates”.
Boehner adds, “They all had a chance to win”. But if no one gets a majority on the first ballot, most state parties have rules that allow their delegates to become free agents, free to support the candidate of their choice.

These are the big, diverse and delegate-rich states that are yet to vote, and most of which are likely to favour Clinton. But he’s suggesting that even if he doesn’t reach that number and a contested convention ensues, having anyone but him emerge as the nominee will produce a convention scene we haven’t seen in decades.
