Daily Kos blogger The Red Pen pointed to a Free Republic commenter who gushed, “Trump hit it out of the park, on EVERY topic… One is Hillary Clinton”, Walker said to a chorus of boos.

Because the poll is conducted online and individuals self-select to participate, a margin of error can not be calculated. But still the poll confirms some ominous trends for the GOP. I asked if he could more specific. My reasoning was as follows. The percentage of those who would do so with a Clinton administration is down 1 point. Second, I thought the Libertarian candidate could pick up a significant number of Republican defectors, between 5-8 percent; Gary Johnson is at 6 percent in the new PPP poll.

At this point in 2012, President Barack Obama was ahead of Republican nominee Mitt Romney by almost the same margin, favored by 46 percent of likely voters to Romney’s 41 percent, with about 13 percent picking neither candidate.

The number of likely voters who picked neither Clinton nor Trump in the poll was almost 24 percent. He said the debates in late September and early October will sway the election more than any day-to-day stumbles on the campaign trail.

Independent Evan McMullin: Less than half a percent.

PPP found Texans overall have an unfavorable opinion of both candidates (59 percent for Clinton and 53 percent for Trump). Still, his campaign has announced that it will sue for ballot access, and Jamie Lovegrove, at the Dallas Morning News, has a fascinating look at the constitutional question at hand.

The Trump campaign did not disclose how much it would be spending on this initial buy.

In remarks made near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the latest city to be dealing with violent scenes following a police shooting, Mr Trump said: “We reject the bigotry of Hillary Clinton, which panders to and talks down to communities of color and sees them only as votes – that’s all they care about”.
