Trump puts cash on Communion plate

The Iowa caucus is now just a few days away, and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump is feeling a win within his fingertips. On Saturday, his campaign released a video titled, “Christian Values”, in which Trump holds up a Bible and thanks “the evangelicals” for their support.

Despite such appeals, and Mr Falwell’s endorsement, many have continued to question whether Mr Trump’s purported embrace of religion is anything more than political convenience. He did note that Christians are “under siege” and should band together to exert more influence, while attending a rally at a private Christian college in Sioux Center on January 24. “It’s good (for a candidate to be religious), but that’s not necessary to run the country”.

“It is extremely important that you get out there and VOTE for Mr. Trump”, Laudner wrote.

Trump also took Communion at the service. Trump displays his childhood Bible, which he occasionally brings out while campaigning, to remind voters that he’s Presbyterian. “When I drink my little wine – which is about the only wine I drink – and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed”, he said, according to CNN. Shoring up his popularity with the far right, anti-immigrant population of the party, the financial mogul unveiled he is being backed by one of the most infamous Tea Party superstars to ever put jailed inmates in pink underwear – Arizona’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio. “I will never let you down”.

Donald’s inability to convert fans into voters proved to be his undoing in Iowa and may hint at the future of his campaign, Republican operative Ryan Williams, a former Mitt Romney aide, told Politico.

But Mr Cruz has an unparalleled “ground game”, comprising 12,000 volunteers who will fan out across Iowa’s 1,681 voting precincts to mobilise his supporters.

Kolby Raymond, a University of Northern Iowa student, said he’s still debating between supporting Trump or Republicans Marco Rubio or Ben Carson at tonight’s caucuses.

The surprise for Trump — accepting second, not first place.

On the campaign trail, Trump has said if he doesn’t win the White House, the entire journey has been a waste. “You’re not going to change their minds. It’s going to be a great week, and we’re going to be up here next week”. “And it’s just very special to me”.

Trump arrived in Council Bluffs, a small town across the Missouri River from Omaha, Ne., for a rally at Gerald W. Kirn Junior High School. They’ve been incredible. Every poll says how well I’ve been doing with them.

Kathy Gerdes, a 65-year-old Clinton resident and retired nurse, saw Trump speak Saturday in Clinton. But that doesn’t bother her.

“How can you guys tell him to go back home?” she asked Christie.
