Trump rejects calls to temper tone at his campaign events

Secret Service agents rushed on stage to protect U.S. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump during a disturbance at a rally on Saturday, a day after rowdy protests shut down his event in Chicago.

For his part, Rubio has not set foot outside the Sunshine State all week as he tries to replicate the come-from-behind win that first sent the tea party darling to the Senate in 2010.

Rubio reportedly picked up 10 delegates and 37 percent of the vote, while Kasich picked up 36 percent and Trump only 14 perent.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich said “it’s really tough” to continue justifying the statement that he would support Mr. Trump.

The District convention attracted scant national attention, with the candidates focusing on Florida, Ohio and other delegate-rich states that hold primaries on Tuesday.

Rubio: I believe Donald Trump as our nominee is going to shatter and fracture the Republican party and the conservative movement.

“This is a man who in rallies has told his supporters to basically beat up the people in the crowd, and he’ll pay their legal fees – someone who has encouraged people in his audience to rough up anyone who stands up and says something he doesn’t like”, Rubio charged.

Meanwhile, it gets much harder for Trump to win – and significantly easier for his opponents to stop him – if Trump loses Florida, Ohio or both. Bernie Sanders, who Trump has blamed – aren’t entirely at fault.

In an interview with The New York Times that was published on Saturday, Rubio likened Trump to a third-world dictator.

“I’ll support Donald if he’s the Republican nominee, and let me tell you why”. But right now I’m focused on what does this mean to the political discourse, and more importantly the rope of the Republican party and the conservative movement discourse.

According to an Associated Press count, Trump leads the overall race for delegates with 460. Trump, meanwhile, could put the Republican nomination out of reach to others in Tuesday’s slate of five delegate-rich primaries.

Ted Cruz won nine of the 12 delegates up for grabs in Wyoming.

A Trump campaign event was canceled in Chicago yesterday when throngs of protesters – many of them blacks and Latinos angered by Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric – massed outside and inside the venue, mingling and in some cases brawling with the candidate’s supporters.

Kasich says he was “deeply disturbed” by reports of the violent clashes outside of Trump’s event.

Turnout appeared robust, with people waiting more than an hour to vote in a line that stretched longer than two city blocks on Saturday afternoon.

However, the incident further increased tension after Mr Trump’s Chicago rally was abandoned amid chaotic scenes on Friday.
