Trump releasing plan aimed at improving veterans’ care

Trump says he wants all veterans eligible for care from the Department of Veterans Affairs to be able to receive treatment from any doctor or facility that accepts Medicare.
Trump’s plan lacked specifics on how much it would cost to implement, though he said his proposed changes would cost less than the current system by getting rid of waste.
“They pour money at it but then everybody steals the money”, he said. Additionally part of the plan is “firing the corrupt and incompetent VA executives who let our veterans down”, Trump stated.
Donald Trump is releasing a plan aimed at improving veterans’ health care. “We’re going to transform the VA to meet the needs of the 21st century….” Trump also focused on providing better support for female veterans, including improved health services.
“The plan will ensure our veterans get the care they need whenever and wherever they need it”, said Trump, who previewed the plan during a rally that drew thousands in front of the battleship USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, Virginia, That’s the same city where 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney chose to announce Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential pick.
Trump promises an increase in funding for PTSD and suicide prevention services, increased funding for job training, incentives for companies that hire vets and working with non-profits that already work with vets to find employment opportunities.
Trump, who appeared to break from his extemporaneous remarks to consult a document while speaking about his policy proposal, also said he would also invest in policies to help ease the transition from active duty to civilian life.
“Politicians in Washington have tried to fix the VA by holding hearings and blindly throwing money at the problem”. “We’re going to make the V.A. great again”.
Despite all the fanfare, Trump’s plan was missing a crucial detail – its cost.
