“Trump asked three times?” commentator Mike Barnicle asked.

According to a report from MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump asked a foreign policy advisor three times during a briefing why he couldn’t just use nuclear weapons to solve the nation’s problems.

Hayden explained that the Constitution puts “great power” in the hands of the president and commander-in-chief.

Scarborough then asked his guest, former CIA and National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden, about whether there were any ways to stop Trump from ordering a nuclear strike if he were elected president.

“Joe, that chain of command was built for speed and decisiveness”, Hayden replied.

‘Not nuclear annihilation, ‘ Hayden said, indicating that military officials could, however, revolt in such a scenario.

On Tuesday’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough claimed Donald Trump asked a “foreign policy expert” who was advising him numerous times about “why can’t we use nuclear weapons”. “It’s not created to debate the decision”, Hayden responded.

Asked what concerns him most about Trump, Haden responded, “How erratic he is”.

SCARBOROUGH: I have to follow up with that, I’ll be careful here.

So, nothing to see here, just a story confirming that Donald Trump does not comprehend the basics of nuclear deterrence and the importance of the taboo against the first use of those weapons.

Mika Brzezinski: Be careful America and be careful Republican leaders. Why hasn’t he shared this information with, say, the New York Times or Wall Street Journal or anybody who might have investigated Trump’s apparent confusion over why we can’t rain nuclear death upon our enemies?

Donald Trump could put the world on the pathway to nuclear annihilation if he becomes president MSNBC host Joe Scarborough warned this morning
