Trump responds to Obama: ‘He’s a bad president’
On Tuesday, Trump national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson had blamed Khan’s death in Iraq on Obama and Clinton in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. He and first lady Michelle Obama spoke at last week’s Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

Naqvi, 69, a retired US government engineer from Newburgh, New York, is a member of a small community of Muslims who are among America’s Gold Star families, those whose loved ones were killed while serving in the USA military.
Obama said there are now weekly episodes in which even Republican Party leaders distance themselves from Trump.
“Ours is a sacrifice you will never know”.
McCain, a former POW in the Vietnam War, said in a statement that the fact that Trump won his party’s nomination doesn’t give him “unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us”.
A growing number of Republicans in Congress have joined Democrats and veterans groups in criticizing Trump’s comments, although none have told The Associated Press they’re dropping their support for him as a result. It’s not just the optics of picking a fight with a military family that has GOP officials eager for Trump to move on, but the timing of his attacks: Election Day is just three months away. His continued back-and-forth with Muslim-American parents of a USA soldier killed in Iraq left most Hill Republicans perplexed at how the GOP nominee wouldn’t let go of a spat with a grieving couple. “He should not be president and Republican leaders have a moral responsibility to say so”. “There are certain sacrosanct subjects that no amount of wordsmithing can fix once crossed”. “In an ideal world we would have a candidate who would appropriately recognize his comments and apologize for them, but that’s not the situation right now”. “When you question a mother’s pain, by implying that her religion, not her grief, kept her from addressing an arena of people, you are attacking us”, according to a copy of the letter published online.
Obama has made clear he plans to be an active player in the White House race, campaigning around the country for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. He contends other North Atlantic Treaty Organisation nations should spend more money on their militaries and said he was being sarcastic about the Russian Federation hacking.
Trump retaliated by insisting that Khizr Khan “viciously attacked” him and insinuating that Ghazala Khan, who stood quietly by her husband’s side during the emotional speech, may not have been permitted to speak.
“If you look at his wife, she was standing there”. Rob Portman was not on-hand; aides said he was doing previously scheduled events related to opioid legislation he has sponsored, although his schedule appeared to have him near-by.
It’s just the latest Trump-created conundrum for Republican senators who need support from Trump’s enthusiastic backers to win re-election, but risk alienating moderate Republicans, independents, minorities and women if they embrace the GOP nominee too enthusiastically. “So I don’t understand why it’s so hard to understand why Donald Trump…is being held responsible for something he had nothing to with while Hillary Clinton had everything to do with”.
He spent the weekend fighting criticism over his statements about the Khans, as photos of their son’s Arlington Cemetery grave marker was circulating on social media.

Pierson then accused Khizr Khan of trying to undercut the Constitution with Sharia Law – something which Khizr Khan has said is inaccurate. Am I not allowed to respond?
