Trump revives conspiracy theory linking Cruz’s father to JFK killing

“It’s been the summer of Trump”, he said, adding, “There’s never been anything like it”. “Just call our press office”, he said. I mean, if that was the New York Times they would’ve gotten Pulitzer Prizes for their reporting. Politifact concurred, saying that the photograph was “too degraded to offer much confidence”, and experts it consulted “consider Trump’s claim implausible at best and ridiculous at worst”. But it’s hard to blame him, after mocking his wife’s looks, the accusation that his dad might have killed JFK, which I believe, maybe I’d do the same thing. What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. “All I did was point out that on the cover of the National Enquirer there was a picture of him and insane Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast”, Trump said. Instead he said, ‘Donald Trump.’ I had nothing to do with it. While claiming that he had “nothing to do with” the completely debunked story that the National Enquirer ran about Cruz’s father, Trump nevertheless gave the lie credence by repeating it.

“So they have a picture, and old picture having breakfast with Lee Harvey Oswald”. But they never denied-did anybody ever deny that it was the father? Referring to the tabloid magazine’s past coverage of the O.J. Simpson and John Edwards stories, he said, “This was a magazine that frankly in many respects should be very respected”. “What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death, before the shooting?”

“It’s commonplace for politicians to disbelieve their word is their bond, as evidenced by Cruz breaking his promise to endorse his party’s nominee, evidently thinking whilst on the convention stage, ‘At this point, what difference does it make?'”.

Trump’s speech seemed like it was something that was building up in him after he was forced to read off the teleprompter last night.

Roe said on the Stigall Show that he doesn’t “take what [Christie] has to say with any meaning. No big deal!” Reviews of Trump’s daughter Ivanka’s speech Thursday were glowing, and the nominee’s acceptance speech was regarded as relatively disciplined, if dark.

He went on to accuse Cruz of being behind an attack ad targeting Melania Trump that was distributed online by a pro-Cruz super PAC.

Republican unity? What unity after Cruz's rogue move?
