Trump revives spat with Cruz

US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is enjoying a boost in nationwide support after the Republican National Convention (RNC), reaching a near tie situation with presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, a new poll shows.

Trump presidential campaign released a hostage video, showing a shell-shocked Mike Pence nodding approvingly as the GOP presidential nominee discussed – with a straight face -the possibility that Sen.

The Irish Times focused on Donald Trump’s declaration that he is the candidate who would bring security to the United States.

The GOP presidential nominee added that he merely “pointed out” that the picture was published and that he did not know nor imply that Cruz’s dad had anything to do with the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

As he appeared on stage Wednesday night, Cruz basked in a minute-long standing ovation.

So, as controversy continues to surround Trump’s candidacy and the Republican Party, can the businessman and reality star win the USA presidency? Trump said any direct support from Cruz would be moot at this point at a news conference Friday, CNN reported.

Those divisions were laid bare when Trump’s last major challenger for the nomination, U.S. Senator Cruz of Texas, urged Republicans to “vote your conscience” and pointedly did not endorse Trump. German-born Thiel said he was proud to be gay, but did not make an expected appeal for the Republican Party to adopt a more gay-friendly platform.

Cruz didn’t tell the convention crowd that he plans to vote for Trump. But on Thursday the Texan met anger and denunciations from many sides and was even heckled at a breakfast meeting of his own Texas delegation where a vocal minority of the large crowd was furious.

Instead, Trump went back to being Trump at a farewell gathering before leaving Cleveland on Friday.

“[I’m not going to] come like a servile puppy dog and say, ‘thank you very much for maligning my wife and maligning my father, ‘” Cruz told Texas delegates during a sometimes contentious meeting Thursday morning. “Again, my father wanted all the guys who wanted to be here, he wanted to give them a platform”, he said. My only shot is to tie my wagon to Donald Trump. Because Ted Cruz has decided that he knows better?

“There are still a lot of people at the convention and within the party who are not sure where he’s going to stand”.

But it’s noticeable that the objection to Mr Trump in Cleveland is definitely not because of some of the more contentious things he has said about Muslims or Mexicans or women.
