“The people of our country changed me, they changed me with the stories of their lives”, Kasich concluded. “And we think we have a pretty good chance to win there as well”.
Now the question is whether those GOP officials who backed Kasich will endorse Trump, as he assumes the role of the apparent Republican nominee.
Kasich thanked his family, his campaign team and the volunteers who have worked on his campaign effort in recent months, but he acknowledged the futility of continuing with the electoral fight, given that he had only been able to win 154 delegates, to nearly 1,000 so far for Trump. As of Wednesday he was only 184 delegates away from meeting that threshold. Kasich was a more moderate candidate who embraced elements of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul and called for an optimistic and proactive Republican agenda. “I was surprised and it’s a hard thing to do”.
Henson said it has been game over for the Cruz campaign for weeks.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best”, Mr Trump said in a speech.
“We left it all on the field in Indiana”, Cruz said, according to CNN.
“I won IN, I won West Virginia, I won a lot of states”, she said.
Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef said he’s glad they’ve eliminated the possibility of a contested national convention. Just last night though, Kasich asserted that he would remain in the presidential contest despite having no odds of winning.

But in a series of Wednesday morning television interviews, Mr Trump, 69, made clear he would not forget some wounds from a tumultuous primary campaign in which many establishment Republicans rejected him and spawned Stop Trump and Never Trump movements. Both states are set to hold their primary elections next Tuesday.
