Trump RNC Speech Beats Clinton DNC Speech in TV Ratings

Clinton, who has spent more than three decades in public life, has promised to make new jobs a priority, saying she alone has the skills, experience and temperament needed to make incremental progress. A self-described “ratings machine”, Trump fell short of expectations for his nomination speech last week and downplayed the DNC’s winning stream through most of this week. “I didn’t produce our show – I just showed up for the final speech on Thursday”, he told the New York Times.
On Thursday morning, Trump’s campaign sent a fund-raising email urging supporters not to tune into Clinton’s acceptance speech. Whether Trump fans tuning out put him over the top is hard to say. Trump had pulled in roughly 30 million from those networks.
Commercial broadcast and cable network viewership, in millions, for each night of the convention from 10 p.m. ET onward.
Clinton’s speech exactly one week later drew 33.3 million viewers across all cable and broadcast networks.
Democrats contrasted their optimistic message with the more troubled vision of the state of the nation presented by Trump and others at the GOP convention a week earlier.
And Wednesday night attracted 24.4 million viewers, versus 23.4 million viewers for the RNC.
Fox News led all cable networks both in coverage of the Republican National Convention and in average viewers across all eight days of both party conventions, according to the Hill.
“I am watching Crooked Hillary speak”, Trump tweeted during Clinton’s remarks.
“Donald Trump painted a picture, a negative, dark, divisive picture of a country in decline”, she said.
The candidate didn’t dwell too much on gender last night, however.

Trump, who will address two rallies in Colorado later Friday, responded to the Democratic challenge by launching a tirade of insults on Twitter against Clinton and her surrogates.
