Trump’s Muslim Ban Would Be ‘Preposterous’ And Expensive, Immigration Experts Say

Jeff Atwater, one of three statewide elected Republicans on the Florida Cabinet, said Tuesday that it was “hard” to support Trump based on his comments but that he still considered him a better candidate than Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

John McCain, a former prisoner of war, led the charge, saying Trump did not have “unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us”.

“Election year or not, the VFW will not tolerate anyone berating a Gold Star family member for exercising his or her right of speech or expression”, VFW leader Brian Duffy said. What he did for the Khan family, he must do for others.

Put on the defensive, the brash billionaire attacked the parents, issued a statement saying Khan had “no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution, (which is false) and say many other inaccurate things”.

“You have sacrificed nothing and no one”, Khan told Trump from the DNC stage.

Trump later lashed out at the parents, Khizr and Ghazala Khan, implying Ghazala Khan had been forbidden to speak during her husband’s convention remarks because of her religion.

A number of top Republicans have slammed Trump for his remarks including Sen.

It also said: “Captain Khan and thousands of other fearless American military members might still be alive today if Hillary Clinton had exercised better judgment and not created the hostile environment for our military in the Middle East. Iraq, Syria, Libya and Iran are areas of upheaval and unrest that are actively acting against American interests”. In response, Trump insulted the family and implied that Ghazala Khan wasn’t even allowed to speak.

Though he disagrees with Trump’s call for a broad ban on allowing Muslims into the country, Rubio said more needs to be done to monitor who gets into the U.S.

Rep. Mike Coffman, a vulnerable Republican in a competitive Colorado district, said he was “deeply offended when Donald Trump fails to honour the sacrifices of all of our courageous soldiers who were lost in that war”.

Trump advisers have spent months trying to help the political novice do just that.

Khan continued, “And yet a private citizen in this political process, in his candidacy for the stewardship of this country, I can not say what I feel?”

Gold Star families represent such a small fraction of the population, “it’s super important that the people making the decision to send men and women off to war understand what that means”, said Borek, who hasn’t decided which candidate she will vote for. After winning the primary, he spent days criticizing a USA district court judge’s Mexican heritage.

Candidates have also wrestled with whether to appear alongside Trump when he campaigns in their states.

In spite of those storms, Trump remains in a close race for the White House with Clinton. During his speech, Khizr Khan slammed Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States and asked of the GOP nominee, “Have you even read the U.S. Constitution?” “His sacrifice – and that of Khizr and Ghazala Khan – should always be honored”.

Sanford said while Trump’s comments draw media attention that was useful to his candidacy when the field was crowded with 17 candidates, they don’t win the independent voter who he says it essential in a two-way contest. He didn’t mention Trump by name but implicitly rebuked him for criticizing the Khan family. She had nothing to say.
