Trump’s new campaign manager says bad poll numbers ‘help’ them

Trump needs to be “comfortable about being in his own skin” while she and new campaign CEO Stephen Bannon “sharpen the message”, Conway said.

Donald Trump said Thursday he regrets some of the remarks he has made while running for president, making a surprising concession in his first speech after a big campaign shakeup.

In his first speech since re-ordering his campaign leadership, Donald Trump told a crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina, that he regrets some of what he has said – a rare admission from him that some of his campaign rhetoric has stirred controversy.

“They’re basically saying, I don’t like the way the last couple weeks went and I want you to get back to fighting Hillary Clinton”, she said of polls showing Republicans moving away from their nominee.

Conway, who a day earlier was promoted as the campaign manager, said that despite trailing behind Trump is “enjoying” his campaign.

“He’s going to give these policy speeches”, she said on CNN. “Voters know if you’re comfortable in your own skin”.

“I respect him immensely”, Conway responded.

Fineman told Beban that since Manafort was brought onto the campaign in March, his approach has not lived up to expectations: “When he was brought in in the spring, it was thought that that meant Donald Trump’s campaign would turn into a normal, recognizable right-of-center Republican campaign”. “When people talk about a pivot, Alisyn, most of the advice he receives, whether it’s on TV or in person, is pivoting stylistically”.

Clinton, campaigning Wednesday in Cleveland, said voters should not be fooled by any Trump efforts to revamp his candidacy.

It’s an issue unlikely to go away: At hearings planned for next month, Republicans in Congress say they’ll ask Federal Bureau of Investigation officials whether those notes indicate she may have lied to lawmakers in response to questions about her handling of classified material.

“My guess is Bannon will be a bull in a china shop and Conway will be focused on messaging and paid media”, said Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak. “And let him be him in this sense”, she said. She has a bad gender gap among men, basically half of the electorate, that has not been able to be turned around. “I answered your question”, she continued. “In other words, she’s a very defined individual”.

The tone Hillary Clinton sets during a transition and inauguration will likely be key to potentially improving her image, said Chris Lehane, who worked in opposition research in her husband’s administration.

“Next week is immigration week followed by education week”. This is 2008 all over again. “This is a change election”. “There’s a whole generation of people who love the news but were 7 or 8 years old when this happened and have no earthly idea about the Clinton sex stuff”, he says. “That’s how he got here”.

The news site added that Trump was loaning his campaign an average of $4.3 million per month, but that was cut down $2.2 million in May, possibly because he had clinched the GOP nomination.

“Trump is finding joy in the campaign trail, which is very important”.

Bannon is close to Nigel Farage, the former head of the right-wing UK Independence Party, who offered “massive thanks” to Breitbart News for supporting the party’s successful campaign on behalf of Britain’s departure from the European Union.

Day one of the Breitbart era within the Donald Trump campaign got off to a surprisingly fluffy start Thursday.

“I can be the skunk at the garden party plenty. But he is still the same man who insults Gold Star families, demeans women, mocks people with disabilities and thinks he knows more about ISIS than our generals”.
