Trump’s new Obama claims thrust him into uncharted territory
Obama lashed out at critics who have questioned why he refuses to use the phrase “radical Islam” when discussing terrorism.

“We’re trying to be nice”, Trump said.
While almost 33% of Republicans said that they viewed Trump unfavorably, only 17% of Democrats had an unfavorable view of Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. We’re not respected by these people.
Donald Trump is not getting high marks from the American public for his response to Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando, nor are voters approving of his Muslim ban.
In the days since the worst attack on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001, Clinton has taken a more aggressive approach toward Trump, mocking his proposals as the schemes of an angry amateur while trying to project the measured, authoritative tone of a president. “President Obama wanted to make clear that the United States government, the federal government says no to what Donald Trump is suggesting, that it is hateful bigotry”.
Clinton and Obama, who favor the term “radical Islamism” instead, say it better reflects how violent, militant groups like the Islamic State have perverted a peaceful religion.
“Why he won’t use that term or why he doesn’t use it and how it doesn’t make difference, but it does make a difference”, he added.
Donald Trump, for all his faults, has forced Hillary Clinton to cross the threshold and acknowledge the obvious, that “radical Islam” is a unsafe threat to our country. “And beating up on what is, in the United States, a vulnerable minority group isn’t the way that you impress other members of other vulnerable minority groups to win their support”.
Looking at the GOP, 65 percent said the Orlando massacre was both a hate crime and terrorism, 10 percent thought it was just a hate crime and 22 percent thought it was just terrorism.
The real estate tycoon doubled-down on the proposal to ban Muslims in a speech on Monday and suggested the ban could be expanded to areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism. Are we going to start subjecting them to special surveillance? Now we know at least part of the answer: Trump would reveal himself more clearly than ever as a man unfit to lead. Trump has constantly demonstrated how weak he believes the Obama administration is and he further proved that when he said, “The first thing you need is a president that will mention the problem”.
“You gotta get over there and start making them pay where they live”, he said.
That speech included a series of attacks on Clinton, including the false allegation that she “wants to allow radical Islamic terrorists to pour into our country”.
Namely, Donald Trump has been in some political hot water following (what some call) racist comments he made about a USA judge overseeing pending fraud cases against the notorious Trump University.

Trump’s announced meeting with the NRA, even if it ultimately leads to nothing, should serve to remind us of how the true art of negotiation and horse trading has been effectively dead in Washington for decades.
