Trump’s newest feud: Bill O’Reilly

With Scott Walker’s decision to end his presidential campaign dominating the headlines, Donald Trump tried to get the attention back on himself Monday night by restarting his war with Fox News only an hour after appearing on the cable news channel.

O’Reilly laughed off the criticism.

O’Reilly, who’s set to host Trump again on his Fox News show, The O’Reilly Factor, this Thursday, quipped, “I have him on regularly, I’ve known him for 30 years”. “You know, this machine, the tweeting thing, that’s like the worst thing you can give Donald Trump is this tweeting thing”, he added laughing. He has gotten into spats with both the media, most notably with Fox News host Megyn Kelly, and his rival 2016 candidates.

What would happen if Bill O’ Reilly ran against Donald Trump?

O’Reilly, on the NBC show for a book interview, said that at least it means Trump watches his show. “That’s the chic thing to do”, he said. He said of Trump’s Twitter rant, “this personal stuff? Just a piffle”.

“I think Trump is good for politics in America”. And I’m the only one who says that.

“Everybody else bashing the hell out of Donald Trump“. “He has engaged people. Pay attention. The country’s in trouble”.

O’Reilly asserted that he could stand his ground in any debate because it’s his job to be cognizant of what’s going on and because he is a “solution-driven guy”.

Asked whether he thought Trump would still be the front-runner months from now, O’Reilly said that the real estate tycoon would be “competitive” but stopped short of saying he would still be leading the pack “with any certainty”.
