Trump’s NY Primary Victory Strengthens Campaign
John Kasich captured three delegates; three more are unpledged delegates. John Kasich won at least two delegates and Ted Cruz was in danger of being shut out.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders won the rural New York Democratic Party presidential primary in a landslide, claiming 60 percent of the vote in the counties outside the state’s metropolitan regions.
If Trump can not muster those numbers, Cruz has a chance at victory come July’s Republican convention.
Clinton’s triumph padded her delegate lead, putting her 80 percent of the way toward clinching the Democratic nomination that eluded her eight years ago. Kasich is mathematically out of the delegate race, needing 158 percent of the delegates.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have moved one step further towards a one-on-one battle for the White House after big wins in the NY primaries.
Clinton’s win over Bernie Sanders, while narrower, broke a string of victories by the democratic socialist and gave the Democratic front-runner a much-needed lift.
The fact of the matter is that a candidate needs 1237 delegates to win the nomination.
“We’re going to end at a very high level and get a lot more delegates than anybody projected even in their wildest imaginations”, the real estate mogul said in a victory speech from Trump Tower.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump won resoundingly, but Jewish voters may have denied him a sweep of the delegates.

New Jersey Republican Party spokesman Pete Sheridan said Christie will “participate in political meetings with Mr. Trump” and return to the state later in the day.
Tuesday’s outcome in NY could provide a critical turning point for Trump’s momentum.
The remaining 81 delegates were assigned based on tallies in each of the state’s 27 congressional districts. Appealing to Sanders’ loyal supporters, Clinton said, “There is more that unites us than divides us”. Only New York’s 5.8 million Democrats and 2.7 million Republicans who registered by last October were eligible to vote.

Exit polls on Tuesday showed the vast majority of Democrats willing to back either of their candidates in November, while significant chunks of GOP voters saw some candidates in the field that they flat wouldn’t support. As per Republican party’s delegation division Trump took 89 delegates out of total 95.
