Trump said to offer Ind. governor spot on ticket
Several sources and news organizations including NPR reported Pence was Trump’s pick throughout the day on Thursday.

Governor Chris Christie, of New Jersey, angrily refused to pick up Donald Trump’s dry cleaning during a tense encounter between the two men on Friday, campaign sources confirm.
Pence has been mentioned as a possible Republican presidential contender in recent election cycles but has never sought national office.
And Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions arrived in Indianapolis to meet with Trump to serve as another adviser as the presumptive GOP nominee makes his final decision on a running mate.
In 2012, he was vetted by GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign. Pence, who is running for re-election, faces a noon Friday deadline to withdraw from the race. His staff told Eyewitness News they are staying the course and will only have to make a few adjustments, depending on who gets into the race. “So he said he wanted to just take a little time“.
Trump is also choosing a running mate who has been at odds with him on numerous policy positions. But the final decision rests with the candidate, who is known for making decisions more on instinct than other factors – and for sometimes changing his mind.
The clock could be running down on Mike Pence’s bid to be re-elected governor of Indiana.
To me that’s like proposing, staging a big wedding, and then deciding at the last minute to marry the maid of honor instead – with the bride standing right there – but again, I was told that was Pence’s problem. “We’re very good friends, I have very high regard for him”. I hope that (Trump) he picks a good movement conservative. “Clearly, Mike is one of those”.
It will be a short campaign among Indiana Republicans vying replace Mike Pence as the party’s candidate for governor.
Mike Pence delivers his State of the State address to a joint session of the legislature at the Statehouse, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, in Indianapolis.
Pence keeps a low-profile and can play a crucial role in uniting the Republican party to rally around the controversial billionaire ahead of the November presidential elections. “The time has come for all of us to urge the swift adoption of the Trans Pacific Partnership”. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Hanover College four years later and his law degree from Indiana University in 1986.
Democrats said the Pence selection is “divisive”. He also indicated that he will announce tomorrow when the rescheduled VP announcement will be held.
Even on Thursday, however, with images of bloodshed playing across national television, Trump did not pause his own political schedule: He addressed a fundraising event in California and gave multiple television interviews, calling in one for a formal declaration of war by Congress against the Islamic State.
