Trump says black pastors were pressured not to endorse him
“Bobby Jindal. I call him Alfred E. Newman”, Trump said to scattered laughter. “I think I’m going to do great with the African American vote”. Others reportedly wanted to meet with Trump before they made a final decision.

Her jobs proposals will add up to the most expensive set of policy ideas she’ll offer up throughout her campaign, her campaign said. “I’m all for building safe zones in Syria which is much less expensive and believe it or not, they’d rather be there”, Trump said referring to Syrian refugees.
People lined up for hours to see Trump. “I don’t know anything about the flyer”. One recognizable face at the meeting was Youngstown native Omarosa Manigault, a former star on Trump’s show “Apprentice”, who is now an ordained minister in Los Angeles.
“We’re winning in every single category”. To me, black lives are very important. “Just play the preachers”.
“What they really want more than anything else is results”.
Earlier in the day, Trump met with a group of black pastors in New York City, calling it “amazing”. He noted that Christie’s initial reaction was that he “didn’t recall” any such celebrations.
“Leaders don’t back down from challenges”, Couzens told NPR.
Trump also said he supported the idea of requiring all Muslims living in the United States to register in a special database as a counter-terrorism measure.
“So many came up to Trump Tower”. But in spite of the lower numbers, Couzens said the event went well.
“And he seem to have real good answers. All lives are very important”. “No one was angry or upset or anything of that nature”. “I’m happy to take whatever advice he has, you know, in a 140 characters or less”, said Christie. It would have allowed the paper to effectively say, “Hey, we never actually said 100 black pastors were going to endorse Trump”.
Trump also drew criticism recently for retweeting an image of inaccurate statistics that vastly overrepresented the number of whites killed by blacks, among other errors. “He said that when he made his comments about the person needing to be roughed up, he was not aware at the time that it was an African American that he was referring to”.
By the time Trump hit the stage, the crowd, a little under half the capacity of the Macon Coliseum was ready.
Following her response to Donald’s tweet, Chrissy received massive backlash from his supporters on Twitter to the point that she said, “My timeline is hysterical right now”. We want to have the meeting.
But several black pastors invited to the gathering quickly rebutted the endorsement talk, forcing the cancellation of a planned press conference and leaving Trump in an awkward spot.
Michael Cohen, vice president of The Trump Organization, told CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” that the original statement that the meeting would be an endorsement by all present was a misunderstanding between Scott and the campaign.
