Trump Says Fundraiser Wiped Christie’s Campaign Debt Clean

He also touched on how the next president would pick three or more Supreme Court justices, having this week released a list of names of 11 judges he would consider appointing to the high court. Earlier this week, a Quinnipiac University poll showed Christie had an approval rating of only 29%.

The poll found that 40 percent of New Jersey residents also disapprove of the job U.S. Sen. With his term ending in January 2018, Christie could find political rebirth in a Trump administration, perhaps even as vice president.

Christie has been a part of Trump’s campaign since endorsing him at the end of February, only a couple of weeks after dropping out of the race himself.

These amount to the first campaign fundraising events for Trump, who long pilloried big-money donors but entered into a joint fundraising effort this week between his campaign and the Republican National Committee.

She recalled that in 2008, after losing the primary to President Barack Obama, she endorsed him and campaigned for him. A plane circling the area carried a banner declaring “dump Christie and Trump”. Because the federal government provides matching funds for charity care, the $175 million cut planned for next year would lead to a net reduction of $350 million for charity care in New Jersey.

“We are going to have a military that’s going to be so big and so strong and so powerful that nobody is going to mess with us”, he said.

As is customary at Trump events, the scene outside the rally was part of the storyline, too.
