Trump says he saw people celebrating 9/11 in Jersey City, NJ
Over the weekend, fellow GOP candidate Donald Trump said he saw New Jersey residents celebrating the 9/11 terrorist attacks – a claim that has been challenged by fact checkers. “I want a watch list for the Syrian refugees that [President] Obama’s going to let in if we don’t stop him as Republicans”, he said.

Pressed which footage he saw, he said “the newsreels”. Instead, it appears that Trump’s populist appeal and show of strength, even aggression, hold significant appeal in times of fear and anxiety.
Trump’s campaign said the ads will “stress the need for real change in Washington, D.C.in order to address problems created by the “all talk, no action politicians” that have failed American’s for far too long”. Politifact rated it “pants on fire” and The Washington Post gave it “four Pinocchios”.
Fox News has learned that, as of Sunday, 10 new donors pledged money to the group, New Day for America, since a report Thursday on the super PAC’s plans. Some news outlets reported rumors of crowds cheering after the attack, but there was no evidence to support the few reports about Muslims cheering in New Jersey. “And a database would be fine for them, and (a) watch list is fine”. But there was no source for the information and there is no evidence of anything coming of the questioning.
Jersey City’s Democratic mayor, Steven Fulop, also called out Trump. ‘No one in Jersey City cheered on September 11th.
“I do not remember that, and so it’s not something that was part of my recollection”.
TRUMP: I’ll tell you who would have been hurt, the bad guys would… Asked what kind of film, he said: “The news reels”.
“Carson’s greatest strength has always been who people think he is as a person”, said J. Ann Selzer, whose Iowa-based Selzer & Co. conducted the survey, according to CBS News. “I want surveillance of certain mosques, if that’s okay, I want surveillance, and you know what, we’ve had it before and we’ll have it again”.
The Yahoo reporter asked about the possibility of a database for Muslims or “a form of special identification that noted their religion”.
“I’m going to have to see what happens”.
He also said he had had trouble hearing the NBC reporter’s questions. “When I did this, I said I have to be treated fairly”.
Trump’s gains seem to be mostly at Dr. Carson’s expense.
Trump first made the claim at a Birmingham, Alabama, rally on Saturday.
The burning issue of national security has taken a stronger place in voters’ minds on the heels of a NY Times article that quoted a Carson adviser, Duane Clarridge, as expressing concern about the candidate’s foreign policy competence. “That was not the case, as best as I can remember”.

Overall, the poll found that no Republican candidate is viewed more favorably by Republican likely voters than Carson, as 69 percent said they have a favorable view of him.
