In a party convention beset by distractions – Melania Trump’s plagiarism, Ted Cruz’s defiance – there’s been one part of the program that delegates say has been almost flawless: Donald Trump’s grown children.
Tillis went on to praise Trump for allowing Cruz to speak.
“I don’t have any time for people who break commitments that are fundamental to Republicans in this nation, and I’m very disappointed with what he did”. Mike Pence, the vice-presidential nominee, gave a conservative speech that nearly all Republicans could applaud.
But after Cruz refused to endorse Trump from the stage at the RNC last night, the Texas senator has picked up a few new nicknames. If Trump can’t handle keeping something as simple as an acceptance speech a secret, imagine what he would do if he had access to vital national secrets as president?
Trump’s speech will close out a four-day conclave in Cleveland that exposed continuing divisions among Republicans over their nominee at a time when they need to unite for a looming battle against Democrat Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the November 8 election. “And resentment but no solutions about anything that he even talked about”, she said.
Mr Donald Trump is planning to sketch out a vision of a nation hovering on the brink of disaster as he presents himself as the only leader who can protect Americans and fix a suffering economy.
“I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people that cannot defend themselves”.
“It’s about time I said that”.
Trump said, “If you turn on television, you – you turn on some of the dishonest media, you’ll see that, oh, wow. this happened and that happened”.
‘Something has gone terribly wrong when one speaker says “vote your conscience” and gets booed, ‘ she said, referencing the infamous Wednesday evening incident involving Ted Cruz.
“Friends, delegates and Americans, I humbly accept your nomination for the president of the United States”, said Trump.
Members of Nato have all signed a treaty that says they will come to the aid of any member that is attacked. “I can’t really imagine him on a white horse, but that seems to be what he’s telling us”.
