Trump says Obama-IS remark was sarcasm
Donald Trump attacked President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton by describing them as the co-founders of the terrorist organization ISIS in a speech to the National Association of Home Builders in Miami, Florida on August 11.

Trump first claimed Obama was “the founder of Isis” on Wednesday night at a rally in Sunrise, Florida.
“He was the founder of ISIS, absolutely”, Trump said of Obama earlier on CNBC. He was swiftly corrected from Trump, who actually thinks President Obama is “the most valuable player” for ISIS. “He founded Isis. And, I would say the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton”. He told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt “No, I meant that he’s the founder of ISIS, I do”. “I know what you meant, you meant that he created the vacuum, he lost the peace”. Are people complaining that I said he was the founder of ISIS?
Hewitt pointed out that Trump’s wording suggested the meant that Obama had literally formulated ISIS, asking the business mogul if that was a mistake. “I go back to a very good way of life”. “He was the founder”. At no point in the 9NEWS interview did Pence refer to the president as the “founder” of ISIS.
Are “Clinton Republicans” Becoming a Thing?
“He gets the most valuable player award”. And I give it to him, and I give it to, I gave the co-founder to Hillary.
Trump raised eyebrows when he made that claim and gave many details of what he said he saw in the film. “FYI – U.S. -backed militias retook ISIS’s stronghold in Libya today thanks to Obama-authorized air strikes”, he said in a tweet late on Wednesday.
“I don’t care”, Trump answered.
At this rate – with about three months to go until the general election – Pence is going to have plenty of chances to explain Donald Trump’s controversial statements.
Clinton’s White House campaign hit back at the sensational remarks, branding them a “false claim”.
Time magazine reported on Thursday that Republican Chairman Reince Priebus had told Trump that party funds and staff would be redirected to help congressional candidates if his campaign continued to falter.
Trump’s commentary also seemed to echo an opinion expressed by a leader he says he respects, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Obama eventually stopped taking credit after the rise of ISIS, and even expressed disbelief anyone would assume the decision to withdraw from Iraq was his. They should give, you know, in athletics, we get awards.

Others said his use of the president’s full name called to mind his long and twisting effort to try and prove Mr Obama was not a USA citizen and that he was in truth a Muslim who was born in either Kenya or Indonesia.
