Trump says only way he can lose Pennsylvania is cheating

“The Republicans have a tougher path – not my fault”, he said.

Trump said Friday that only voter fraud can prevent him from winning the swing state of Pennsylvania this November.

He’s citing concerns about voter fraud.

Trump claimed the National Security Agency has Hillary Clinton’s missing emails and suggests that the agency release them publicly.

And his backers are blaming the media for the perception that all is not well.

Trump has a handful of stock campaign pledges: to build a wall along the US-Mexico border, curb immigration, destroy the Islamic State group and bring industrial jobs back to America. “For the last week or so, he’s been very focused and very much on his game”.

In a rare show of humility by the boastful billionaire, Donald Trump is acknowledging that his presidential campaign faces challenges and could ultimately fall short.

Ody Draklellis, a Republican who owns the Queen City Diner in Allentown, said people in the area were open to Trump because they mistrusted Clinton and were exhausted of Obama’s policies.

It all largely overshadowed the content of 44 previously-unreleased email exchanges Clinton had while at the State Department.

Though Clinton’s team isn’t advertising on television in either MI or Wisconsin, she is hardly ignoring the states. “He’s not going to win a majority of voters by sounding offensive and ridiculous”.

Trump has called President Barack Obama the “founder” of the Islamic State group.

All of it, to some Republicans, should lead the party to give up on its nominee.

The slide in the polls has been linked to a series of post-convention missteps by Trump, including feuding with top Republicans and with the parents of a slain Muslim-American soldier, and a comment about gun enthusiasts that was widely interpreted as a threat against Clinton or a joke gone bad.

He also added that poll watchers are “standard for professional campaigns” and pointed out poll watcher guides from around the country, including NY and Texas. But Donald Trump wants them to go further: get out and vote, and then stake out polling places to watch for cheating.

“They’re going to do it sooner or later”.

“That kind of rhetoric can be used to keep lots of legitimate people from voting”, she said.

Paul Maslin, a Democratic pollster in Wisconsin, said, “People have moved beyond trade, and fixing some old problem”. They could abandon a state such as Virginia, for example, and focus more on a state such as IN, where Democrat Evan Bayh is trying to make a Senate comeback. He has been stuck under 45 per cent of the vote in OH and Pennsylvania for weeks, polls show, while Clinton has gained support. They spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity to outline private discussions.

Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, on Sunday blamed news organizations for the GOP nominee’s hard week, saying the press focused on a pair of Trump comments for days rather than doing more stories about the economic plan Trump announced.

Should that occur, it’s not likely to happen until after Labor Day, as the party is still relying on Trump to help raise money to fund its expansive political operation. He says he and Priebus are friends and work well together and that they have “great unification”.

Of Michigan’s nine Republican U.S. House members, six support Trump.

Others keeping Trump company this past week include former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

“Republicans want to see a campaign that has a clear strategic direction that reflects reality and is backed up by a disciplined message and resources”, said Rath.

To everyone’s surprise, Trump’s iconoclastic strategy worked.

Some of Trump’s former rivals, including Ted Cruz, John Kasich and Jeb Bush, have declined to endorse Trump. Donald Trump has spent zero.

Trump first made the unfounded claim on Wednesday and repeated it through the week, including in an interview on Thursday with radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt.

Trump on Friday said Republican leaders in Pennsylvania “are very concerned” about the possibility of cheating – adding, “We have to call up law enforcement, and we have to have the sheriffs and the police chiefs and everybody watching”.
