“I am going to say great things about him”, Trump told an audience of military veterans at NBC’s Commander in Chief Forum in NY on Wednesday.

Trump also renewed his praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his disdain for President Barack Obama, saying that the Russian enjoyed an 82 percent approval rating. “She tried to make up for her awful performance last night”, Trump said. “And I think the economy is a much bigger problem as far as the president is concerned”. But she defended her support for US military intervention to help oust a dictator in Libya, despite the chaotic aftermath/Associated Press.

Jason Miller, a Trump spokesman, said Clinton’s comments were “unhinged and dishonest”.

“I find it frustrating”, she said.

He said in his Cleveland remarks that the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq had left a power void filled by Islamic State militants. On Friday night, Clinton told a group of wealthy donors at a private fundraiser, hosted by Barbra Streisand, that Donald Trump’s supporters are a “basket of deplorables” that are “irredeemable”, because they are “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic” people, according to Breitbart News.

Meanwhile, Clinton said the United States would not let North Korea pursue a nuclear weapon and said that as president, she would seek new sanctions and work closely with allies in the region, such as South Korea and Japan. The New York billionaire attacked Clinton’s record as the nation’s chief diplomat, yet he faced criticism from within his own party for refusing to outline his plans for combating foreign policy challenges, including threats posed by the Islamic State group.

Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton took shots at each other in separate appearances at the Commander-in-Chief Forum in NY hosted by Lauer.

“It’s a war we shouldn’t have been in, number one”, Trump said in the interview.

The reception illustrated the pressure that will be on moderators for the three face-to-face debates between Clinton and Trump later this fall.

When a reporter asked what she thought of Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway’s comment that Clinton was “allergic to the media”, Clinton said of Trump, “I’m allergic to him”.

The New York businessman also said he did not think Russia’s government was behind the hack of Democratic National Committee email servers.

Asked to square his request for military options with that criticism, Trump said simply: “They’ll probably be different generals”.

In an interview that only briefly touched on the subject, Howard Stern asked Trump “Are you for invading Iraq?”

Replied questioner Mike Barnicle, “You’re kidding me”.

“Hillary Clinton favours what is called military adventurism”.
