Trump says ‘We’d have riots’ if he is denied nomination at convention

Next up for Republicans is a debate in Salt Lake City on Monday, although Trump suggested last week that he might not participate. But Kasich predicted that “nobody is going to have enough delegates” by the time of the Republican National Convention this summer to win the nomination outright.

Am I the only person in the planet who thinks that Kasich has a chance to be the GOP nominee?

After Tuesday’s victories, Trump needs to win about 54 percent of the roughly 1,100 delegates still up for grabs.

If an initial re-vote doesn’t yield results – which it nearly certainly wouldn’t – then most delegates would be free to vote according to their personal preference, not according to the mandate with which they were delegated. Trump is leading in many other states.

If Trump doesn’t get the 1,237 delegates he needs ahead of the convention, the delegates are released from their commitments, and they will have the opportunity to vote again in what’s known as a floor vote. “At this point, he had lost 20 states before Ohio”, Cruz said. Ted Cruz could be the best option for conservatives.

Former House Speaker John Boehner floated his successor, Paul Ryan, as the nominee in the event of a convention fight. He won 36 percent of the vote in OH, 39 percent in IL, 40 percent in North Carolina, 41 percent in Missouri and 46 percent in Florida. A Trump sweep could have given him an insurmountable lead in the delegate count. In some cases, delegates have not yet been chosen in states that have already had primaries or caucuses. He picked up an endorsement Wednesday from Florida Gov. Rick Scott.

In comments to CNN, Neil Bush – Jeb Bush’s brother – said that Trump’s biggest successes have come in “open” primaries that allow independents or Democrats to vote in the GOP race.

Obama spoke Tuesday at a unity luncheon at the Capitol to express his concern about the protests that have escalated to attacks at the Trump rallies, as well as the candidate’s plan to bar Muslims and deport immigrants living here illegally.

With her wins Tuesday, Clinton put herself in a commanding position to become the first woman in USA history to win a major party nomination. While no such candidate has been identified, the participants in Thursday’s meeting planned to discuss ballot access issues, including using an existing third party as a vehicle or securing signatures for an independent bid. An emboldened Trump warned that if the party tried to block him, “You’d have riots”. Three said Wednesday that they are now also backing Cruz: Myra Crownover of Denton, Gilbert Peńa of Pasadena and Jason Villalba of Dallas.

“I’m not political, but that man should not run our country”, Ruffo said. “He will not accept a nomination and believes our nominee should be someone who ran this year”.

Cruz said Tuesday night that he can still clinch the nomination by the time the primaries are over. Her victories in four primary contests Tuesday was a harsh blow to rival Vermont Sen.

Cruz and Kasich are now fighting to keep Trump from reaching 1,237 delegates. Sanders has at least 844. It takes 2,383 to win the Democratic nomination. All 99 of Florida’s delegates will go to Trump. Cruz has 396 and Kasich 138. Ted Cruz. It would be a clash of potential alternatives as each man maneuvers to claim the mantle of credible alternative to the brash billionaire who has controlled the race for months.
