Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s claim that Hillary Clinton is playing “the woman’s card” drew intense backlash Wednesday, from the Democratic front-runner herself as well as tens of thousands of critics on social media.
At a campaign rally in IN, whose presidential primary is next week, Cruz acknowledged he was not expected to win any of the five states voting in primaries on Tuesday.
Trump’s victory has led him closer to the nomination after speculation that he might not win an outright majority before the GOP National Convention.
Trump has 77 percent of the 1,237 delegates he needs for the Republican nomination after Tuesday’s primaries, according to the AP.
While in Indiana, Texas Senator Ted Cruz said he will be making a “major announcement” this afternoon.
Remaining Republican candidates Sen.
“As far as I am concerned, this race is over”, Trump said, adding that his rival John Kasich, who has 153 delegates to his kitty, is simply wasting his time.
Bernard Sanders is scaling back his presidential campaign and will soon lay off “hundreds” of campaign workers across the country.
Donald Trump doubled down on his “woman’s card” attack on Hillary Clinton on Thursday, insisting the former secretary of state couldn’t get elected to a city council without her gender.
The billionaire businessman – who notched up victories in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island and DE – branded Clinton a “flawed candidate”. “She’s a flawed candidate that frankly is not going to do very well in the election, and I look forward to showing that”, he said. “Many of them are already signed”.
Guthrie pressed Trump again about his playing of the “woman card” card, suggesting that perhaps Clinton – a former US senator and one-time secretary of State-might have some relevant qualifications for political office.
For his part, Trump is starting to turn more and more attention to Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee in the fall election.
