Trump shakes up campaign team
Republican Donald Trump has shaken up his struggling presidential campaign with moves to reinforce his insurgent, anti-Washington image but quickly encountered doubts on whether he is taking the right steps to boost slipping poll numbers. The business mogul is on his third management team in eight weeks.

In addition to Bannon, Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway filled the campaign manager position left vacant since Trump fired his former campaign chief nearly two months ago.
Hours after Trump announced that Steve Bannon, a top executive at the right-wing news site Breitbart, would take over as the campaign chief executive officer, Clinton campaign Chairman Robby Mook painted Bannon as an extremist fringe character who propagates racist ideas.
Media figures were appalled by the news of Bannon’s new role in the Trump campaign, labeling the move “insanity” and saying the hire makes the relationship between Trump and Breitbart “official”. “We’re going to make sure Donald Trump is comfortable about being in his own skin – that he doesn’t lose that authenticity”, she added.
“We may have reached the point of no return for Donald Trump”, said Republican strategist Alex Conant, a senior aide to Florida Sen.

“There’s not a single job that gets created from that, there’s not a single uninsured American who gets health care from that kind of nastiness”, she said.
Bannon “may focus Trump, because he’s good at working with talent”, Shapiro said Wednesday. “I think that’s what’s so important”, she said.
But the simple desire to win may not be enough for Trump and his newest campaign managers.
She first met Trump in 2006, and is opposed to his insults and name-calling. Trump reading from a teleprompter – as he did Tuesday in West Bend, Wis., for his speech appealing to African-Americans in the wake of the Milwaukee police shooting – keeps him from spouting off and making serious mistakes. She has been in the media spotlight before for some of her past statements, like when she said that women should be more feminine rather than feminist, or that conservatives need to stop talking about rape (she preferred to call it “the four letter word”).
With his campaign mired in plummeting polls, Donald Trump overhauled his campaign this week by bringing in Breitbart News’ Stephen Bannon and promoting Conway.
I think it helps us to be a little bit behind, and we are.
Mr Manafort was forced to deny any impropriety this week after The New York Times reported that his name was on secret ledgers showing cash payments designated to him of more than US$12 million (S$16.1 million) from a Ukrainian political party with close ties to Russian Federation.
Of course, the shift may momentarily distract from demoted campaign manager Paul Manafort’s increasingly obvious ties to Russian business and political interests – and perhaps that is its goal. That job had been officially vacant, with Manafort assuming numerous duties, since Trump fired previous campaign manager Corey Lewandowski back in June.
Conway is a 49 year old Republican strategist that has won awards for her ability to predict the outcome of elections.
A new brain trust in place, Donald Trump on Thursday moved to invest almost $5 million in battleground state advertising as the Republican presidential contender took modest steps to address daunting challenges in the states that will make or break his White House ambitions.

Trump’s campaign has benefited from outside political groups. She is also said to favor the “let Trump be Trump” approach, and is an experienced politico with keen verbal skills. “Anybody who was on the bandwagon, Donald Trump has just given you the greatest gift and a warning: It’s going to get ugly and now is the time to jump ship”.
