“I think these are both terrific choices and I’m delighted that he’s bringing them in”.

“I’ve thought for a while that they’ve needed more smart, senior people and it looks like they just got them”, said Republican strategist Charlie Black.
Battered by falling poll numbers and an erratic message, Donald Trump tried to right his presidential campaign Wednesday by adding two senior advisors and effectively demoting his campaign manager.
It is the second personnel shake-up at the top since June 20 when Trump dropped his first manager, Corey Lewandowski, who was sidelined by Manafort and courted controversy after allegedly grabbing a Breitbart reporter. The announcement of her new role in the campaign was posted on the school’s Alumni Association Facebook page Wednesday. Roger Stone, the longtime conservative political consultant and Trump friend, also did campaign work in the 1980s for former Atlantic County Executive Dick Squires, former state Sen.
Bannon, a frequent adviser to Trump, is known for his brass-knuckled demeanor and his website’s sharp tone. Trump pollster Kellyanne Conway will be promoted to campaign manager. “Donald Trump doing poorly doesn’t help any Republicans”.
Trump has resisted pleas from fellow Republicans to overhaul his flamethrowing approach on the campaign trail that powered his surge to the top of his party’s field in the primary season.
“I am who I am, I don’t want to change”, Trump told Wisconsin television station WKTB on Tuesday.
While his media-saturated, populist, outsider campaign defeated 16 rivals to win the Republican nomination, Trump has refuted suggestions that he should change tack to win the November election from the centre.
“The more competitive you can make the presidential race, the more it’s going to help down-ballot races”, said Ian Prior, spokesman for outside groups linked to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, which have already spent almost $30 million on Senate races with another $40 million reserved for the fall.
“You are going see things in the next 82 days that will make you go, ‘You gotta be kidding me, ‘” Beck predicted. “If you start pivoting, you’re not being honest with people”.
Conway downplayed the notion of internal dissent at campaign headquarters at Trump Tower, telling the AP the staffing changes are “an expansion at a critical time in the homestretch”. Additional senior hires are expected soon.
Trump, whose campaign is built on his persona as a victor, said several times that the campaign was doing well, and that his speech hours earlier in Wisconsin Tuesday had been well received. Trump was scheduled to receive his first classified national security briefing on Wednesday, and his campaign announced they would begin airing ads in four battleground states this weekend.
While polls show Clinton building a lead following last month’s conventions, Democrats fear a depressed voter turnout might diminish support among the minority, young and female voters who powered President Barack Obama to two victories.

“We reject the bigotry of Hillary Clinton, which panders to and talks down to communities of color and sees them only as votes – that’s all they care about”, the GOP nominee said in remarks delivered not far from Milwaukee – the latest city to be rocked by violence in the wake of a police shooting.
