Trump shrugs off Obama’s debate critique: ‘He can’t handle the country’
Reiterating earlier claims, Trump said Walker “did a really smart thing for himself”. “I want a room; I want a podium; let’s get going”. “It wasn’t an interview; it was a debate they were supposed to be moderating”, said the New Jersey governor, referencing last week’s CNBC presidential debate. “In my opinion, she’s the nominee – unless she gets indicted”, he added.

“(Look at) the contrast with the Democratic debate, where every thought and question from the media was, which of you is more handsome and why?” “I don’t care who the moderators are…my job is to listen to the questions, answer the questions, and if I don’t like them call them out”.
That last category was the only one in which Trump was not the top choice; 39 percent of voters chose Ben Carson as their most trusted candidate when it comes to being commander in chief.
And why was the stand-out topic of the night NOT covered – CNBC moderators’ obvious bias and confrontational style during this Republican debate, and the audience’s obvious and repeated responses of disapproval regarding CNBC’s style?
The Washington Post reported that Trump is rejecting the joint letter to TV networks.
The meeting ended with candidates agreeing to insist on several specifics in future debates: mandatory opening and closing statements, an equal number of questions for each candidate, and pre-approval of any on-screen graphics used by moderators.
A debate moderator should ask tough questions, follow up when candidates evade or mislead, and facilitate interaction among the candidates to highlight key differences.
Following the first GOP debate in September, a few candidates were visibly sweating – something Donald Trump later mercilessly pointed out.
Donald Trump and others said they will not sign the letter, which will be sent to TVnetworks. “There are too many people”. “If a person’s been campaigning for four or five months, and they’re at zero [points in the polls], they should get out”.
“They occupy a different reality, it seems”, Obama said during the event that drew roughly 1,300 donors who paid between $500 and $10,000 to attend. “On the debate stage, it was clear – we need a conservative leader who will both stand up to the liberal media AND fight the Washington Cartel”.
“One way it’s traditionally been done – but networks don’t like it – is to preview the questions”, he said.

When asked if he’d ever made demands about debate formats, the former presidential candidate snorted.
